Child Education Classes
About Children Classes:
The children's classes are split into four groups: preschool taught by Rachel,
1st & 2nd taught by Brenda Shepley, 3rd & 4th taught by Wendy Brown, and 5th & 6th
taught by Sue Young. Classes are held in the fall, winter, and spring with no classes held
in the summer months. In the fall of 2007 there are plans to also have a class for junior high
and senior high school kids. Along with using the
curriculum from "All Things New", the
children are also involved in various projects. Some examples are banners to hang in the
church, and a current project where they are making prayer
rosaries.
Current Curriculum:
St. John's Episcopal uses the curriculum proposed by the book "All Things New" for
1st and 2nd grades. The 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th grades are currently reading and discussing
C.S. Lewis' "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe".
